First Alert Forecast: Breezy winds with drier conditions moving in, more showers with lighter winds expected before the weekend

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Trades will strengthen slightly to become moderate to breezy with drier conditions expected through Wednesday. An uptick in showers will be possible from Thursday into Saturday as another weak disturbance moves through the island chain. Expect a slight decrease in trade winds with a hybrid expansion in daytime sea breeze winds from Friday into the weekend.
The current moderate to large, medium to long period north swell will slowly decline through the remainder of the work week. A High Surf Advisory (HSA) remains in effect through Tuesday for most north facing shores across the state. South shore surf will remain small during the next 7 days. East shore surf will increase a bit Tuesday and Wednesday in response to strengthening trades.
